城市英语文化建设策略研究

文化是推动城市发展的重要动力.随着中国改革开放步伐的加快,东西方文化在中国以更快的速度汇集、交融,中国人对文化的需求呈现出多元化的趋势,其中尤其是对英语文化知识的需求越来越大.因此,在塑造城市文化形象、提高城市居民文化品位的过程中,我们必须要让本土文化和英语文化自然地结合在一起、让城市英语文化融入市民生活之中,以满足人们对英语文化知识的需求以及经济社会发展对英语文化建设的要求.在对城市英语文化建设现状进行分析的基础上,我们尽力研究一套相对完整的城市英语文化建设体系.

A Study of Strategies on English Cultural Construction in Chinese Cities

Economy and culture are two great forces in city development. Culture provides inestimable driving force for city development. With the speed-up of reform and opening-up in China, eastern culture and western culture are blending and integrating at a higher speed, and Chinese tend to have a great demand for multiple cultures, and especially for English culture. Therefore, in cultivating city image and upgrading city culture, English culture should be taken into consideration, and English culture should be appropriately combined with Chinese traditional culture and cities＇ local culture. Thus English culture can be closely related to people＇ s life and satisfy people＇ s need and serve for the development of economy and society. This paper aims to study a system of strategies for English culture construction in Chinese cities.
