| Abstract: | This article undertakes to examine the origins and their dates of creation of the Southern Plays of Cuo Li Shen and Xiao Sun Tu, pointing out that the two plays were adapted from poetic dramas with the same names in the Yuan Dynasty. The themes, artistic forms, linguistic styles, and performance of the two plays both exhibit traces of Northern operas and dramas. |
