| Abstract: | Reform in the educational system was an important element in Xinzheng Reforms during the late Qing . Zhang Zhidong played an important role in this matter . Following Japan's school system , he worked out a national new school system , Guimao year's school system , which was on the basis of Hubei province's school system . It marked the beginning of modernization in Chinese educational system . |
