| 摘 要： | 本文从语言外形、意义和表达方式等方面探讨了汉英习语文化的相似性和差异性 ,指出由于自然环境、历史发展、社会形态、宗教信仰、风土人情等的不同 ,两种文化具有鲜明的个性 ,其相似性只是相对的 ,差异性则是绝对的。文章还探讨了传递习语文化信息的各种翻译方法 ,强调习语翻译应以直译为主 ,意译为辅

| Abstract: | Idioms carry and reflect culture. The paper makes an exploration into the similarities and differences of the cultures in Chinese and English idioms,pointing out that,due to the differences in geographical environments, historical developments,social systems,religious beliefs and customs and traditions,there are existent unique elements in Chinese and English cultures.The paper also deals with various methods to translate Chinese and English idioms,giving emphasis to the idea that literal translation is preferred to free translation in idiomatic translation. |
