摘    要:"因缘"是佛教的一个重要概念,在原始佛教经典四《阿含经》中有对该理论的详细论述。对佛教因缘概念的内涵与发展应从两个方面来认识:一方面,"因缘"概念来源于对人生现实的观察,同时又最先应用于人生而成为因果报应法则,体现了佛教的一个基本伦理与价值原则;另一方面,原始佛教以十二因缘的链条具体地说明了因缘的内容,揭示了人生的缘起过程,展现了佛教致思的一个基本倾向。

Abstract:The Hetu-pratyaya (Sankrit) which is a very important concept of Buddhism means cause (hetu) and condition (pratyaya) in English. The doctrine is well displayed in Four Chinese Aagama Sutra which is basic texts of Primitive Buddhism. Based on Four Chinese Aagama Sutra, the concept of Hetu-pratyaya has two aspects: causation and the twelve links of dependent origination.In speaking of causation, it recognizes a karma law that a good deed has a good result. It is relevant to human experience and behavior with the goal of justifying morality or moral action. For the twelve links, it is a system whose parts are mutually dependent. This dependence has been designated the dependent origination.
