Rozanov＇s literary criticism abandoned the traditional model of scholastic criticism, in- stead he employed the form of perceptual and intuitional essays to express his literary thoughts. His perspective is unique, opinionated, and showing strong subjectivity. He tended to highlight the writer ＂s personal characteristics in their writing by contrast. He put Pushkin and Gogol at opposite poles, and considered the former created a real, fresh and bright world, and the latter created a fantasy, rig- id and dark world. Rozanov created religion of life. His literary criticism embodied the thinking of reli- gion, literature and social problems, and these thinking were all through the refraction of the prism of life.
