道咸经世派的先驱——严如熤

乾嘉之际 ,考据学仍占据思想、学术界之主流地位 ,但已有一批学者开始关注经世之学 ,他们是道咸经世思想的先驱 ,严如即为其代表之一。严氏之经世思想主要体现为 :以经世致用为著述之主旨 ;充分发挥史学的经世功能 ;以舆地之学为经世之具 ;关心民生疾苦 ,探求解决之道。严氏之思想言行 ,对当时的学术思想界特别是魏源、陶澍等人 ,有着十分重要的影响。

Yan Ru-yi: Pioneer of School of Practical Thought

The Qianlong and Jiaqing reigns was an important histori cal stage when some officials and scholars put forward their own plans and propo sitions aimed at resolving the social problems, while the textual research predo minated over the realm of thinking and academic. But these scholars who were th e pioneers of school of practical thought were overlooked at that time. Yan Ruy i was one of them. He paid attention to the lower strata of society and made go od use of history to solve the social problems. His practical thought did deepl y influence on the contemporary and later scholars, such as Weiyuan,Taodun.
