| Abstract: | Scarce attention has been paid to the origin of the names such as Canal, Grand Canal, Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. This paper is a detailed study of historical names for Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and relevant documents, attempting to clarify the history of different names of the Canal and highlight the role Jiaxing＇s local literature has played in recording the changes of the names of the Canal. |
