从联绵词看汉字与汉语词的关系

汉语中字和词是完全不同的两个概念。字是音形结合的书写符号,词是音义结合的语言单位。就联绵词而言,承认它是由字构成的词,但它的字形又与词义无关,而是"因声表义",可以说,联绵词的形音义关系集中反映了汉语字词之间复杂的对应关系。

On the Relations of Chinese Characters and Chinese Words from Chinese- Words Consisting of Two Characters

In Chinese language, "character" and "word" are two different concepts. The "character" is a writing sign mixed with pronunciation and shape, while the "word" is a linguistic unit combined with pronunciation and meaning. As for "words consisting of two characters", they are words comprised by characters, however, the shapes of the characters have no direct connections with the meanings of the words. They convey meanings by pronunciation. So to speak, the relations of shape, pronunciation and meaning of the words consisting of two characters reflect the complicated equivalent relations between Chinese characters and Chinese words.
