An Intercultural Analysis of Cultural Deficit

Cultural deficit has become the common dilemma for many disadvantaged cultures in intercultural communication. The paper tends to analyze this imbalanced cultural communication through an intercultural perspective rather than from an economic one. Cultural deficit results from the profound cultural psychology, and it is the fetter of ＇ essence＇ and ＇ utilities＇ , and it is also the consequence of pursuing cultural capital. In intercultural communication, cultural deficit has caused the interruption of cultural context and cultural heritage, and still the worse, the deficit of weaker culture will determine the acquisition of its cultural discourse and its cultural identity construction in a global context.
