民国时期我国私人藏书萎缩的原因

私人藏书在中国封建文化史上占有重要的地位,它为中华民族文化的传承做出了巨大贡献。民国时期私人藏书由盛转衰,呈日益萎缩的趋势,并走向终结。其原因有多种:封建社会的消亡使私人藏书失去了生存的土壤;活字机械印刷技术的发展、公共图书馆的出现和西方文化的影响对封建私人藏书造成巨大冲击;日本侵华战争给私人藏书带来毁灭性的打击。多种因素导致民国时期私人藏书走向终结。

Causes of the Withering about Private Collection of Books in our Country during the Period of the Republic of China

The private collection of books played very important part in the feudalist cultural history of our country,which has made enormous contribution in the aspect of handing down Chinese national culture.But during the period of the Republic of China,the collection experienced the process from prosperity to withering,went down day by day,and in the end died out.The causes for the withering are various.The first is that the withering away of the feudalism made the collection of books lose the supporter for its existence.The development of the typographic technology by using machines,the appearance of the public libraries and the influence of the western culture were combined to attack the feudalist private collection of books forcefully.The invasion of the Japanese which gave a destructive blow to the collection might be another cause.On the whole various factors made the private collection of books came to the final stage of its development during the period of the Republic of China.
