世俗化:现代性生成的历史表征

世俗化进程,指的是西方近代化发端时期,传统宗教的超验秩序解体,中世纪神学被一种文化祛魅精神所拷问,神性世界被一种日趋工业化、商品化、货币通约化的新的社会惯例所溶解,作为社会基本单位的个人概念逐步确立、个人能力与价值的逐步显现并带动西方近代形而上学自我意识哲学启蒙和发展的过程。世俗化过程与现代性的生成过程密切相关。神圣权力向世俗权力的转移确立了现代性社会结构中的三个重要维度:国家、社会、个人三者的权力和行为边界。世俗化发育的精神内核乃是自我意识的觉醒和具有现代意义的个人概念的充盈,它客观上输入了现代性生成的历史事件的主体,也构成了现代性不断得以绵延的精神动力与根据。在此意义上,现代性的生成就是世俗秩序的生成。
