An analysis of Chinese telecom industry market based on the theoretical framework of SCP

After breaking monopoly, bringing in competition and other reforms, Chinese telecom market has formed a rudimentary competition pattern. However, the environment is still far from being effective and orderly, and the market remains an oligopoly. On the other hand, the all round business operation of telecom industry in the digital era provides an opportunity for building a fully open competitive market, but the imbalance of company competitiveness cannot be solved in a short term. Therefore, appropriate institutional and regulatory policy is needed to achieve an effective competition pattern of telecommunication market.
