The Impact of the Social Policy Agenda and EU Enlargement on EU Social Policy

Social policy is regarded as a productive factor in the Social Policy Agenda . which aims to modernize and improve the European social model. For the purpose of building social Europe and realizing the convergence of social policy systems, the European Union integrates the new member states into the framework of EU social policy by signing a number of policy papers with the new member states. The European Union also reforms the Structural Funds in order to combat poverty and social exclusion and promote social inclusion in the new member states. There are good reasons to believe that EU enlargement will expand the European social model to its new member states.
