| Abstract: | Vague language makes up a considerable proportion in the use of English. To improve communicative competence , one must have a good command of the relevant knowledge of the expression of vague language in English and of how to make use of it. Making use of linguistic theories and paying attention to both the language form and pragmatic effect, this paper selects examples in conversations and written forms, analyses and induces vague language in English. |
