用国际化视角研究现代中国的观点,在过去几十年的大部分时间里不为西方史学界主流所认可.事实上,在中国现代意义上的国家的诞生过程中,中国已经融入全球体系当中.自1912年中华民国建立后,与更为宽广的世界的相互作用往往以决定性的方式影响着中国的发展面貌,正如中国在世界历史发展过程中所起的作用一样.如果不是特别注重从国际化的角度来考察,简直无法正确地理解现代中国史.要研究那个时代中国国际化的历史,我们就不能将国内和国外截然分开,而是应该以同步研究国内外的国际化进程为目标.

New Perspectives on Internationalization of China during the Republican Era

An international perspective on modern China has been rather unfashionable in Western historical scholarship for much of the past several decades.In fact,in the creation of the modern state,China has been its incorporation into global systems.Since the establishment of the Republican China in 1912,China has been shaped in often decisive ways by its interactions with the wider worldjust as China has helped to shape the course of world history.The history of modern China is simply incomprehensible without a strongly international perspective.If we are to study this era of China's international history,we cannot separate the internal from the external;rather,we should aim to examine processes of internationalization at home and abroad.
