张爱玲小说人物形象的悲剧美学体现

对于悲剧的理解,张爱玲认为人性的偏执、情欲的盲目是导致悲剧的主要原因,她关注的焦点始终是人性.尽管她的小说可以说是"对时代颓废与家庭败落的怅惘与悲叹",可以说是对男欢女爱的冷眼旁观,甚至可以说是"开向四十年代沪、港洋场社会的窗口",但这些都不是张爱玲小说的最高命意.相反,它们都构成了张爱玲借此表现人生、探索人性的一个背景,一个五彩缤纷的悲剧舞台,舞台上演的主题只有一个,那就是人性.从此可以看出,张爱玲的悲剧观是对亚里士多德<诗学>悲剧美学思想的极好体现.

The Tragic Aesthetics in Zhang Ailing' s Novels

Zhang Ailing ascribes the primary cause of tragedy to monomania of human nature and blindness of human desires. Although it is justifiable to view her novels as a wistful lament upon the decadence of individual families and the society as a whole, or as a cold eye at the making of love between men and women, or as "a window of the then Westernized Shanghai and Hong Kong", it is the theme of human nature that dominates her novels. All the others constitute the background against which Zhang depicts human life and explores human nature; they are nothing but colorful settings of a stage, on which only the theme of human nature is performed. Thus, Zhang Ailing's perspective of tragedy is a good echo of Aristotle's aesthetics as is expressed in The Study of Poetry.
