沈从文《边城》悲剧成因新探

The New Probe into the Cause of Tragedy in Shen Congwen's Frontier City

Frontier City, Shen Congwen's magnum opus, has given an appropriate explanation of human's love. So it is always regarded as the great work about the goodness of human nature, and the love tragedy between the hero and heroin is also regarded as the tragedy of goodness. However, the tragedy in Frontier City is not only caused by the apparent cause- "unfortunate", but by much more meaning and complexity: the absence of the characters' subject consciousness, the constraint of lonely feeling and the pressure of grain mill's shadow. Therefore, the love tragedy between Cuicui and Nuo song is in fact the tragedy of character, destiny and society, which arouses the readers' deep thinking about the ruin of "beauty".
