| Abstract: | The Northern and Southern Dynasties saw the remarkable achievements made in sculptural arts.The huge Buddhist statues in the north and the grand stone sculptures in the south presented an artistic landmark of ancient China.Among them are the stone unicorn and the exorcising animal carved on tombs and the funerary pottery figurines in the Southern Dynasties,which affect us with both natural power and human warmth. |
