| 摘 要： | 西方社会关注《大清律例》始自马戛尔尼使团访华。小斯当东更是将之于1810年翻译成英文。随后在近百年中，英美人士对《大清律例》的认识和研究不断深化，这不但促进了英美人士了解中国法律制度，而且也为其攫取在华利益提供了方便。与西方在华利益和西方社会思潮变化相一致，英美人士在不同时期对《大清律例》的关注点不同，其认识和评价也是各异。
