| Abstract: | This article asserts that there exist three basic syntactic differences between English and Chinese: the difference between treelike structure and linear structure; hypotaxis and parataxis; and the difference of sentence boundary. For these differences, three transformational procedures are suggested for English and Chinese mutual translation. |
