南通近代“中西合璧”建筑的发展及式样类型

由于近代民族工业发祥地的历史背景和清末状元张謇在南通的悉心经营和实业建设，南通兴建了大批的近代中西合璧建筑。这些建筑是近代中西两种不同文化碰撞与交融的结果，因其体现出中西合璧的建筑形态特征而具有很高的历史文化价值和建筑艺术价值。通过对南通地区现存近84幢近代中西合璧建筑多次调研、测绘基础上，结合文献资料分析，探讨了南通近代中西合璧建筑的发展历程及发展动因，并从建筑的形态趋向总结了四种基本的式样类型。

The Evolution and Styles of Modern Buildings in Nantong Combining Chinese and Western Elements

Being the birthplace of modern national industry and thanks to the effective administration and industrial construction launched by a Number One Scholar of the late Qing Dynasty named Zhang Jian, modern buildings combining Chinese and Western dements were built in Nantong. These buildings, the products of the collision and combination of Chinese and Western cultures, are of high historical, cultural and aesthetic values for they embody architectural styles of both Chinese and western cultures. According to investigations of the 84 existing buildings combined with Chinese and western elements and the analysis of historical documents about them, the development course and motions of these buildings are discussed, and four basic styles are derived from morphological trend of these buildings.
