| Abstract: | Some words in The Analects of Confucious are cross-classified as both nouns and verbs and some of them developed their nominal meaning from the original verb meaning,where some developed their verb meanings from the original nominal meanings.Their classification is based on several criteria,i.e.,previous interpretations,textual evidence,recent discoveries,and appropriate inference.The research on such words may provide a base for lexical interpretation and relevant grammatical analysis. |
