20世纪20年代,鲁迅先生先后在北京、厦门、广州等地的高校任教。在京期间,鲁迅先生对教学尽职尽责,为学生仗义执言而险遭缧绁之灾。迫于经济环境、家庭环境的恶化,鲁迅先生离京南下。在厦门大学,鲁迅先生因与顾颉刚、林文庆之间的矛盾激化而再次选择出走,另谋它就。在广州中山大学,鲁迅先生亲身经历了动荡时局与新一轮的人事冲突。最终,鲁迅先生放弃高校教师职业,辗转沪上,成为专职作家,完成了自我社会角色的重大转变。

Life in the Ivory Tower: Lu Xun's Teaching Experience
