论城市空间若干要素的对立统一

On Harmonious Coexistence of Diversified Elements of City Spaces

In the paper the author first puts forward his viewpoint that the beauty of a modern city lies in the harmonious coexistence of diversified elements of city spaces. Then he enumerates eight pairs of city spaces: the motion and the motionlessness; reality and void; separation and conjunction; architecture and environment, the down town area and the new planning zone; development of new city and reconstruction of old city; high rise buildings and lower buildings; and on ground space and underground space.It can serve as a guide in the planning and construction of the city, and also in the management and beutification of the city.
