清代伊犁驻防索伦营始末

乾隆年间,清政府重新统一新疆天山南北,为戍边,自东北调遣驻防军携眷进驻伊犁,组成“伊犁四营”。其中的索伦营由达斡尔族和鄂温克族组成。他们在今霍尔果斯河两岸屯垦游牧,驻守台站和卡伦,换防塔尔巴哈台和喀什噶尔,巡查边界,御外侮,平内乱,又遭农民起义的冲击。新疆建省后,又恢复其驻防军功能,直至辛亥革命解甲。

On the Beginning and End of the Suolun Battalion Garrisoned at Ili in the Qing Dynasty

When Qianlong was in reign,the Qing Government reunited Xinjiang and, to defend the frontier area,dispatched,from the northeastern China,frontier army and their families to Ili which made up the 'four Ili battalions',of which the Suolun Battalion was composed of the Daur and Ewenki nationalities.They were garrisoned on the banks of today's Horgos River,roving around as nomads,relieving garrisons at Tarbahtay and Kashgar,inspecting the borderlines,fighting against foreign invaders,putting down domestic rebellions,and being attacked by peasant uprisings.After Xinjiang was established as province,this battalion resumed its function as defense army and the soldiers were not demobilized till the 1911 Revolution.
