西方文化对中国文化之需要

从两个层面来讨论与指陈西方文化对中国文化之需要:一是外在的需要,可以说是为了世界与人类的动态平衡、和谐发展引起的需要;一是内在的需要,可以说是为了解决现代西方思想内在矛盾的多元性引起的需要.关于前一需要,拟从亨廷顿的观点说起,而后一需要则从当代数种西方思想的根本形态说起.同时需要指出的是,中国文化如要成功应对这两项挑战也需要自身的提升和创造,即实现自我的世界化与现代化.

Western Culture in Need of Chinese Culture

There are two reasons why western culture needs Chinese culture. The first is its external need for a dynamic balance for the whole world and mankind. The second is internal need for settling the conflicts caused by the multiplicity of modern western thought. It must be pointed out that Chinese culture itself needs lifting and innovation, i.e., the globalization and modernization of the Chinese culture, in order to meet the above two challenges.
