“英国归属”认同政治的批判——论《撒旦诗篇》与《砖巷》中的族群归属书写

移民问题是英国在第二次世界大战后面临的最具挑战性的社会问题之一。英国官方针对移民提出的“英国归属”认同模式经历了三个阶段的演变。萨尔曼·拉什迪与莫尼卡·阿里分别在20世纪80年代末和21世纪初发表的作品《撒旦诗篇》、《砖巷》中，对穆斯林移民寻求文化归属的经历进行了书写。两位作家从移民族群的角度出发，对官方三种“英国归属”认同模式中存在的“排斥”逻辑和“强制同化”逻辑展开批评，以他们为代表的英国族裔文学开拓了建构以文化多样性为特征的英国民族认同的可能性。

Critiques of the Identity Politics of English Belonging: A Study of the Writings on the Ethnic Belonging in Satanic Verses and Brick Lane

The issue of British immigrants is one of the great challenges that Britain has encountered since World War II. The British government put forward three patterns of “English Belonging” to address this issue in different historical periods. With the emergence of the British ethnic groups as cultural forces in the 1980s, immigrant and ethnic writers made their voice heard. This paper analyzes the writings of immigrates’ experiences of assimilation and acculturation in Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses and Monica Ali’s Brick Lane so as to reveal their critiques of the logic of exclusion as well as that of imposed acculturation embodied in the identity politics of the official patterns.
