《谈艺录》论宋诗

对理学家诗 ,总体评价不高。但对具体作家、具体作品作具体分析 ,不是一棍子打死。“句中眼”应为“警策”处 ,而非“警句”。舍去篇章不顾 ,就不能称为“句中眼”。“句中眼”也不一定就在五言诗的第三字、七言诗的第五字上。“句中眼”不必句句有眼 ,也不一定为声音之“响”字。

Remarks on Sone Pomes in Qian Zhong-shu's Tan Yi Lu

The poems by moralists in Sone dynasty are not regarded highly on the whole. However, it should be analyzed specifically when dealing with a specific writer or poem instead of denying all. "Eye of sentence" should be the key of a poem but not an epigram and would not get the name without the whole text. It is unlikely that a "eye of sentence" must be the third lettering of a cinque lettering poem or the fifth lettering of a septenary lettering poem. In addition, "eye of sentence" doesn't mean that every sentence should contain a "eye", and the "eye" is unlikely a sounding word.
