典籍英译:问题与对策

典籍英译在文化传播中具有重大意义。但是 ,目前我国典籍英译工作存在诸多问题 ,如缺乏计划性和组织性、人才缺乏、分散且后继乏人等 ,解决这些问题应当采取相应的对策 ,如建立典籍英译研究会、建立博士点、设立研究基金、设立奖项、扶持有关图书出口等。

English translation of Chinese Classics: problems and countermeasures

Being an integrant of cultural dissemination important to cultural vitality that concerns directly the rise and fall of a nation,translation of Chinese classics into English is of great significance.This paper in vestigates the present situation of English translation of Chinese classics,analyzes the existing problems and ascribes these to a lack of overall planning,a lack of proper organization,a shortfall in talents and funds,etc.,then goes on to propose seven countermeasures to rectify the situation,including the establishment of a research center for English translation of Chinese classics,the inception of a doctorate point,the initiation of research funds and translation prizes,and the necessity for a solution to the issue of books exportation,etc.
