论吐蕃赞普继承制度

赞普继承制度是吐蕃政治制度的核心内容,本文对此作了比较深入的研究。本文认为,吐蕃赞普多为终身制,赞普人选必须从同一家庭的男性成员中产生,以父子承继为主,兄弟承继为辅,由长及幼,往往给新赞普上尊号,以表明权力的交接或表彰伟业、树立权威。

On the Succession System of Zanpu of Tubo

The Succession System of Zanpu was the most important component of the Tubo political system,this paper has made a fairly thorough study of it.A conclusion has been made as follows:Zanpu of Tubo had in most cases a lifelong tenure;a new Zanpu candidate must be chosen from the male members of the previous Zanpu's family;the main practice was for a son to take over from his father,while as a secondary choice,sometimes a brother can also take over from his bother;among the sons,usually an elder one took power;when a new Zanpu took power,he was given a honorific title,symbolizing his succession of power,commending his great achievements,or building up his authority.
