On Poems Written by Wang Shou- ren at Changde

Wang Shouren wrote 13 poems at Changde when he was banished to Longchang.The Poems show that he came to know clearly after his painful experiences the reality of jockeying for position in official circles but couldn't forget his original intention to be politically outstanding,that inspired by the mountains and rivers ,he used to think of living in mountains,and that with the ending of his banishment,he felt happy on his way back and determined to do something.They are descriptions of nature animated by his feelings and full of profound meanings.Their themes are always brought out by the last sentence.The poems are a precious cultural heritage in banishment literature of China and of great aesthetic value.
