The Effects of the Mode of Production on Urban Spatial Structure

By summarizing the factors which influence the urban spatial structure,this article holds that the revolution of the mode of production is the basic driving force of urban spatial structure.It brings forward the idea that the simple mode of production has little impact on urban spatial structure which is mainly affected by religion and politics.And the mass production by machines forces urban to expand quickly and suburbanize.At the same time the urban evolves into many functional sections and has many cores.And under the flexible manufacturing system,the industrial cluster and high-tech park will emerge in urban.The city will concentrate and disperse at the same time,and the functional sections will mingle.The paper finally points out that the government should design the urban spatial structure according to its historical stages and modes of production.
