文身是傣族男子中的一种传统习俗。本文通过对云南省勐海县傣族文身习俗的调查 ,介绍了傣族文身的历史与现实个案以及文身图案与文身方法。作者在调查中发现了头部文身和红色文身的罕见现象。在田野调查的基础上 ,作者还对傣族文身的历史价值和文化变迁进行了讨论

A Study of the Tattoo among the Dai People in Menghai County

Tattoo used to be a traditional custom among the Dai people. By means of investigation on the tattoo custom of the Dai people in Menghai County, Yunnan Province, this paper presents its history and actual cases, designs and method. The author discovered head tattoo and red tattoo in her fieldwork, both of which are rare phenomena. On the basis of fieldwork, the author also discusses the historic value and cultural changes of the tattoo among the Dai people.
