朱希祖与胡适——兼及章门弟子与英美派在北大的历史关系

朱希祖与胡适都是民初北大的著名教授。朱希祖是章太炎的弟子,是章门在北大的代表人物;而胡适则是当时北大英美派的精神领袖。朱希祖与胡适在北大校政、新文化运动以及学术往来上均有过良好的关系,但最后还是由合而分。他们相互关系的嬗变是当时北大太炎一系与英美派历史关系的折射。

On the Relationship Between Zhu Xizu and Hu Shi——Also on the Historical Relations Between Disciples of the Zhang School and the Intellectuals from Britain-America School at Peking University

Zhu Xizu and Hu Shi were both famous professors of Peking University at the Beginning of the Republic of China. Zhu Xizu, as the student of Zhang Taiyan, was an important representative of the Zhang School, while Hu Shi was a spiritual leader of the intellectuals from Britain-America School at Peking University. Zhu Xizu and Hu Shi ever had good relations in terms of the official affairs of Peking University, the New Culture Movement, academic exchanges and so on. However, their relationship wound up in divergence at last. The change of their relationship was the reflection of historical relations between disciples of the Zhang School and the intellectuals from Britain-America School.
