| Abstract: | Linguistic cohesion and semantic coherence are important components of discourse analysis, and they are two essential means for discourse connection. This paper discusses how discourse analysis is applied to the teaching of English reading to help students get to know the basic meaning of an unknown word as well as the discourse structure of an article so that their ability to read in English can be enhanced. |
