The Principles of Translation Teaching and the Cultivation of Students' Translation Competence

The objective of translation teaching is to cultivate the students'communicative competence / translation competence, which involves methods of translation teaching, teaching principles as well as concept of language instruction. The author argues that, on the basis of the basic teaching principles, a translation teacher may well adopt the functional teaching method which puts stress on communicative purpose, and students-centered concept which will promote the students'translation competence.
