Abstract:This article summarizes the main characteristics of Chinese traditional culture and analyzes the positive and negative impact of Chinese traditional culture on the university credit scheme. The positive impact consists of: "Moral Governing" ideology which calls for the student-centered credit system, and "Combination and conformance" ideology which requests a transdisciplinary credit system to widen students'scope of knowledge; The negative impact consists of the patriarchal clan system that conflicts with the individuality development, and student-centered value system. The Chinese traditional feudal hierarchy ideas impair the equality of teacher-student relationship. We point out that we should absorb the positive aspects of the traditional Chinese culture and try to minimize the negative aspects. We should build up a new concept to implement the credit system based on the student-centered ideology and equal teacher-student relationship, make full use of limited resources to promote the teaching enthusiasm, and enlarge the space for students'personal development.
Keywords:Traditional Culture  Academic Credit System  Positive Impact  Negative Impact
