| Abstract: | Professor John Lossing Buck (1891-1975) came to China in 1915. He was the founder of the first department of agricultural economics in China, Department of Agricultural Economics, Jinling University, in 1921, which had greatly expedited the teaching and research of China's modern agricultural economics. His tremendous influence is discussed from perspectives of discipline building, talent cultivation and rural economy surveys. |
