| 摘 要： | 由于历史上被割裂、地理上被分隔，加之文化发展及方言使用有别，香港在外来语使用方面有其特点，在翻译使用上一方面沿用旧译，另一方面则新译多，其中专有名词翻译方面更是与国内用语异同参半。回归祖国之后，翻译用语异同问题在与内地交流中的负面影响愈加突出。本文拟讨论有关香港与内地之间常见的专有名词英译汉异同问题。

| Abstract: | Owing to historical cession, geographical segregatoon, and linguistic and dialectal differences, Hong Kong has been quite different in the mode of adoption of foreign words. Besides using English words directly, making reduction in their syllables or pronouncing them in Cantonese tone, there has been a world of difference in the translation of foreign loans between Hong Kong and Mainland China no matter whether in common nouns or in proper nouns. With the return of Hong Kong to China in 1997, the negative effects of these differences have become more and more apparent. This paper aims to discuss differences in translation of proper nouns between Hong Kong and Mainland China. |
