Reflections on the Development of Small Towns in Hunan Province

To develop small towns is a great strategy for promoting economic and social development of Hunan province.It is advantageous to closing the gap between town and country,to arranging a large number of surplus labour and to producing new growth points of regional economy.In the course of developing small towns,more attention and investment are needed in small towns whose conditions are favourable.Stress is to be laid on the development level and regional characteristics,scale and benefits,and regional advantages.Importance is to be attached to long-term benefits and sustainable development,and an objection is to be made to dupicating industrial structure of lower level and to short-term act for quick success.
