谈毛晋《宋六十名家词》的文献编纂——读《四库全书总目·词曲类》

《四库全书总目提要·词曲类》对毛晋《宋六十名家词》有很多的评判。四库馆臣首先肯定其在考据、流播诸方面的功绩，但更多的是指摘，比如指责其不重底本、校勘草率等。究其原因有二：一是，毛词刻本确有不足——其实校书如扫秋叶，旋扫旋生，毛晋如此大规模的刊刻词本，怎能保证没有一些疏漏？二是，清人对前朝文献本能地带有主观拒斥的态度，有时甚至不免吹毛求疵。这除了政治的因素以外，更主要的是两种学术传统——汉学与宋学的冲突，这种现象的产生实际不过是学术史上的“破立”之例罢了。

There are two reasons for it. One is that it is certain that there is deficiency in Mao＇s works-- as collation is a difficult job for Maojin to guarantee no oversight in such wide scaled work. The other is that the people in Qing Dynasty has subjective rejection toward former literature. In addition to political factors, the most important thing is actually a conflict between two different academic tradition--Chinese studies and Song studies. The occurrence of this phenomenon is nothing but an incident of ＂break rules＂ in academic history.
