孔子的“君子”人格论

孔子平生教书育人,以培养造就"君子"为宗旨。君子一直是人们区分人的道德品行好坏的标准,君子是人们追求达到的理想人格目标,小人是人们所鄙弃的无德行者。君子人格的内涵、特征或者标准,大致说来,应该有10种:仁、义、礼、智、忠信、勇、中庸、和而不同、文质彬彬与自强不息。孔子及先秦儒家汲汲于"君子小人"之辨,目的在于扬善抑恶,塑造仁德的理想人格。

Confucius' Opinions on the Personality of Man of Honor

Confucius devoted his life to education with the ultimate aim of transforming his students into men of honor,who are models in accordance with which morality and immorality are identified.To become a man of honor has been an ideal objective of personality for most people,while a base man is usually despised as an immoralist.The intension,characteristics or standards of a man of honor largely consist of such ingredients as benevolence,righteousness,courtesy,wisdom,faithfulness,bravery,mean,consistence with tolerance of differences,elegance and plainness,and self-renewal.Confucius and other pre-Qin dynasty Confucianists were actively involved in the debate over whether to become a man of honor or a base man only with the purpose of promoting beneficence and demoting vices to mould an ideal personality of benevolence.
