Religious Conservatism and American Diplomacy after the Cold War

In the 1960s and 1970s,the rise of religious conservation was considered as a reaction of American religious circle to the flooding of liberalism.The alliance of religious conservatism and the GOP is due to their shared political ground. The impact of religious conservatism on past Cold War American foreign policy can be seen in the intensification of the "sense of mission" in American foreign policy,the strengthening of the view of dualism of justice vs evil in the war on terrorisim,the growing importance of neoconservatism in the foreign policy concept of the Bush Administration and the emphasis on religions freedom in American human rights diplomacy.
