The Ontological Text--Query on the Text's meaning The Enlightenment of Gadamer's Hermeneutics on the Idea of the Text

The idea of text in translation has been arousing wide discussion and attention. The traditional idea of text affirms the translator's efforts in pursuing the author's meaning, while the modern idea of text insists on the interpretation of the text's meaning. This paper seeks to find out the enlightenment of Gadamer's hermeneutics on the idea of the text on the basis of the contrastive analysis of Shhiliemacher's traditional hermeneutics and Gadamer's philosophical hermeneutics, and claims that in translation we must desert the old idea of the text and establish a new one to pursue the meaning that a text can display.
