佛教与中国古代文学的关系初探

佛教与中国古代文学始终保持着密切联系。一方面，佛教逐渐演变为中国传统文化的一部分，特别是从文学上对人们的生活产生影响；另一方面，文学辅助佛教弘传并融汇于中国文化，两者相互作用，初始借文学以宣扬佛教，渐趋达到佛教意识，对正常文学式样的有机渗透，文学不再表面化地宣扬佛教教理，而是在其意境中把人们引向空寂的世界。

An Initial Exploration of the Relationship Between Buddhism and Ancient Chinese Literature

Buddhism is closely connected with ancient Chinese Literature. On the one hand, Buddhism has gradually merged into and become part of Chinese traditional culture, exercising influence over people's life through literature. On the other hand,literature has helped Buddhism in its spreading and merging into Chinese culture. The two has been interacting on each other. At the beginning, Buddhism was propagated and advocated through literature till the latter became permeated with Buddhism. With Buddhism organically permeating into the normal literature style, literature then no longer superficially propagates and advocates the doctrines of Buddhism. Instead, it leads people through its artistic conception into the empty word.
