从泗州大圣到僧伽信仰

僧伽和尚是初唐一位传奇式的佛教人物,因其生前在泗州一带传法,被后世尊奉为“泗州大圣”。自唐宋以来,关于僧伽的传奇故事和神异事迹在民间广为流传,在一大批佛教居士的推动下,历经唐、宋、明、清,更形成了全国性的僧伽信仰。僧伽信仰作为一种宗教现象,是佛教与中国居士阶层特别是唐宋的居士活动融合的产物,唐宋的居士佛教造就了僧伽信仰。

From the Great Sage of Sizhou to the Cult of Sengqie

Sengqie is a legend Buddhist in the early Tang Dynasty.Since he disseminated the Buddhist doctrine in the district of Sizhou before his life,Sengqie was treated respectfully as " the Great Sage of Sizhou ".Since Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty,the legend of Sengqie and his miraculous stories had been spread widely in the folks.Been promoted by a large quantity of Lay Buddhists,in the past dynasties( from Tang to Song),the Cult of Sengqie had came into being all over the nation.As a kind of religious phenomenon,it is the result that Buddhism united the Chinese Lay Buddhists;especially the Lay Buddhists' activities during Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty.In a word,the Lay Buddhist Buddhism during the Tang and Song Dynasty caused the Cult of Sengqie.
