Exploring the Status of Test Specification Through the Questionnaire Survey

Test specification is a formal document about what will be tested and how to test.It plays an important role in the test writing.Based on the questionnaire survey and related test linguistic literature,this article discusses the teachers' understanding of test specification,then explores differences and relations between test syllabus and test specification,the role of test specification in guaranteeing the content validity and structure validity of test,and in making test evaluations.Finally the process of making test specification is illustrated.
