摘    要:文章从国家形象建构的理论入手,分析央视等国家媒体的四川震灾报道为何能为中国形象增色,指出尊重普世价值、突出真实性和提高媒体公信力是媒体建构良好国家形象的三个重要因素。论文认为只有深入了解媒体与国家形象间的关系,才能使媒体在建构中国的国际形象方面发挥更大的作用。

Abstract:The present paper, starting with the theories on forming the image of a country, explores how the CCTV-led national media contributed to the improvement of China's image in the world through their news reports on the earthquake that recently hit Sichuan. The paper points out that, in order to do a perfect job in this respect, the following three factors are essential: respect for universal values, emphasis on truthfulness, and improvement of creditability among the public. It argues that only with a better understanding of the relationships between the media and the image of a country can the Chinese media play greater roles in forming a favorable image of China in the international community.
