| 摘 要： | 戴维？赫伯特？劳伦斯的《儿子与情人》与托马斯？沃尔夫的《天使，望故乡》是两部现代派成长小说，作品均围绕作家的人生经历，展现了保罗？莫瑞尔和尤金？甘特这两位主人公的成长历程。文章通过对比分析可知，在描绘主人公心理、家庭、社会背景、成长轨迹等方面，劳伦斯和沃尔夫采用了极其相似的手法。主人公保罗和尤金的成长历程似乎正是劳伦斯和沃尔夫艺术而独特的写照。

| Abstract: | David Herbert Lawrence’s Sons and Lovers and Thomas Wolfe’s Angel ,Look Home-ward are two modernist growth novels ,both of which center closely around their writers’ life ex-periences ,giving an account of the growth of Paul Morel and Eugene Gant-the two protagonists of the novels .It is showned through comparative analysis that D .H .Lawrence and Thomas Wolfe are very similar in depicting the characters ’ s psychology ,family ,social milieu ,and life experi-ences .The growth processes of Paul Morel and Eugene Gant seem to be the artistic and unique re-flection of T homas Wolfe’s and D .H .Law rence’s real life . |
